T.S. Eliot sincerely followed his beliefs and principles and his plays can be read as illustrations of his poetic theories. All his plays have an ethical design which is justified by requirements of situations pictured in them. Through a unified study of his imagery the ethical scheme of his dramas have been reconstructed. Along with the study of idea- based category of images, we journey with the dramatist from the infernal and purgatorial fires to the stages of happiness and heavenly experience. It is through patterns of images of his plays that Eliot gives his mystical vision to the world. The function of his imagery is not only to form the action of his plays but also to give the experience of art emotion. This study clears the mystery of imagery in his dramas and brings into light the super human visions of the writer which takes him to the rising glory.
