The study is relevant in context of the abject poverty and extreme backwardness of the region as it lies in backward region of the country i.e. eastern Uttar Pradesh; characterized by poor socio-economic condition and hence quality of life however it varies across the region. This requires an investigation of the human resources in the study area, its spatial pattern; the outcome of the study can help policy makers, administrators and planners to evolve suitable short term and long term strategies for the development and upliftment of the region in general and improvement of the quality of life of the people in particular.
